Privacy Policy
Midnight Shelter ("we", "the service") operates an AI-driven 24/7 radio station at midnight-shelter.art. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
- Account data (Google Sign-In): when you sign in with Google, we receive your email address, display name, and profile picture. We do not receive your Google password.
- Profile data: a display name and avatar you optionally set, and your privacy preferences (anonymous sender, anonymous location, public message opt-in).
- Messages you send: the text of messages you submit to the host, and comments or likes on public messages.
- Technical data: your IP address (used for abuse prevention and, only if you opt in, approximate region), and an anonymous listener identifier used to display the live listener count.
2. How we use it
- To run the live show, including letting the AI host read and reply to messages.
- To authenticate you and remember your preferences.
- To prevent spam, abuse, and content that violates our safety policy.
- To display aggregate metrics such as the number of current listeners.
3. Third-party services
We rely on the following processors:
- Google — sign-in (OAuth) and AI model inference (Gemini / Vertex AI).
- Google Cloud Platform — hosting, storage, and database.
- IP geolocation providers — approximate region lookup, only when you opt in to sharing location.
4. Cookies
We use a single, essential session cookie to keep you signed in. It is HTTP-only and we do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
5. Content moderation
Messages are screened by automated keyword and AI safety filters before the host may read them. We may store blocked messages for safety and audit purposes.
6. Your choices and rights
- Enable "anonymous sender" or "anonymous location" at any time in your profile.
- Turning anonymity back on causes us to forget previously stored personal memories about you.
- Request access to or deletion of your account data by contacting us.
- Sign out at any time, which clears your session.
7. Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active. Inbox and public message threads are retained for a limited window and then expire. Operational logs are kept for a short period for reliability and abuse prevention.
8. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.

- 重新开启匿名后，我们会忘记此前存储的关于你的个人记忆。
- 可联系我们以访问或删除你的账户数据。
- 可随时退出登录，这会清除你的会话。
7. 数据留存
账户存续期间我们会保留账户数据。私信与公开消息会保留一段有限时间后过期。运维日志会出于稳定性与防滥用目的短期保留。
8. 儿童
本服务不面向 13 岁以下（或你所在地区的最低年龄）儿童，我们不会有意收集其数据。
9. 变更
我们可能更新本政策，重大变更将通过上方"最后更新"日期体现。
